FREDERICA NASCIMENTO lives in Los Angeles. Works in theatre, opera, dance and film. Frederica was awarded the Tisch School of the Arts Scholarship and received her MFA from Tisch School of the Arts/ New York University with the J. S. Seidman Graduating Award for Excellence in Design. Graduated from Superior School of Theatre and Cinema, IFICT Theatre Institute, and Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Lisbon. She is a scholar with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Luso-American Foundation and a member of the Portuguese Architects Association.

Collaborates with Johannes Wieland Dance Company in New York and is a Usual Suspect for the New York Theatre Workshop.
Frederica is Faculty at The Los Angeles Film School (Production Design / Art Direction), Faculty at Pierce College (Scenic Design, Stagecraft, Production, Introduction to Design for Theatre), and a member of the United Scenic Artists USA 829, IATSE.
In the 2014 Spring Repertory Season, she started collaborating with A Noise Within as the Scenic Designer for Tartuffe by Molière, directed by Julia Rodriguez-Elliot.
Frederica was the scenic designer for The Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht and Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, directed by Geoff Elliot and Julia Rodriguez-Elliot at A Noise Within; and the guest scenic designer in a new production of In The Red And Brown Water by Tarell Alvin McCraney, directed by Shirley Jo Finney at the Department of Theater and Dance - UC Santa Barbara.
Nominated for the NAACP THEATRE AWARDS 2014 in Scenic Design - Equity: The Road Weeps, The Well Runs Dry by Marcus Gardley.
Collaborated with Evidence Room / Odyssey Theatre Ensemble (for the Company's 20th anniversary) on a new production of The False Servant by Pierre de Marivaux, directed by Bart DeLorenzo. Other projects with Bart DeLorenzo: Ivanov by Anton Chekhov, and Passion Play by Sarah Ruhl.
Frederica was the set designer for Antigone by Jean Anouilh , directed by Robertson Dean; and All My Sons by Arthur Miller, directed by Geoff Elliott at A Noise Within for the 2015 Fall Repertory Season.
Scenic Design for Blood Wedding by Federica García Lorca , directed by Valorie Grear (Dow Arena Theatre); and Durang Durang by Christopher Durang, directed by Anthony Cantrell (LAPC Theatre).
Scenic Design for Othello by William Shakespeare, directed by Jessica Kubzansky at A Noise Within for the 2018 Spring Repertory Season.
